Way Tata travelled.
When Tata was in Parbhani,he had to travel sometimes on duty.So, a great meal was prepared then it was put in a Carrier box which had several layers of Dabbas.Biryani, chicken curry with parathas etc.was the minimum requirement.Then the bedding was prepared,in which a small matress was tucked in the bedding and proper bed sheet was spread.The pillows were tucked in which included a small pillow to keep in between knees as he claimed they poke him.Now one peon was deputed to travel with him.His duty was to at dinner time open the carrier spread out the meal with proper dinner plate glass of water etc,then wind up the meal.Spread the bedding `properly`(single mistake he was doomed).Ane then travel back to parbhani while Tata proceeded to his destination.

My childhood memories of Tata and Amama- when they used to come to Nagar to visit us in a jeep or (to me) a HUGE bus with a driver. Tata in front holding onto the bar wearing his hat and sunglasses and all neatly dressed. Amama with her hair in hairnet and scarf and sunglasses and sari. They used to stay for a while and zoom off. It was all just sooo COOL! Tinu and I were so excited about it all!
ReplyDeleteNow that is called travelling in style. In today's age of just throwing in a few clothes in a carry on bag and suffering the entire journey instead of enjoying it to the hilt this story makes me yearn for the time when time itself was abundant.
